About Lotus Temple

Also called Bahai Temple or the Bahai House of worship, the Lotus Temple is an important landmark in the city of Delhi. This place of worship of the Bahai sect is literally constructed in the shape of a large, white lotus flower. An architectural feat in itself, this beautiful temple is flocked by people from all religions, a living example of the openness and equality promoted by Bahai laws. One is allowed to read or chant from holy scriptures belonging to any religion, but nobody is allowed to play musical instruments, give sermons or hold religious ceremonies inside the hall. This exemplifies the true nature of Buddhist traditions, which lays emphasis on meditation as a means to experience divinity. Enjoy the lush green surroundings and maybe even lounge around for a picnic. Winner of a number of architectural awards, Lotus Temple is truly a sight to behold, especially in the night when it is all lit up in breathtaking splendour.

Eating Out

But the vegetarian dish that was a real stunner was their dal makhani, a thick lentil stew that almost eats like a gravy.Using primarily black lentils, plenty of ghee, and a perfect amount of spice, this dish full of dal makhani was incredible along with our stack of tandoori roti.
The North Indian flavors were so different from the Bengali food I had been eating, having come from Kolkata (both incredibly rich and amazing).I had eaten tandoori chicken plenty of times before, but my friend said that his meat eating friends had spoken very highly of the Afghani chicken. The Afghani chicken came out tender and juicy and absolutely bursting with flavor. One of the best plates of chicken I’ve ever had. When I got to Delhi, I was already a huge fan of chaats, and especially those ones where yogurt was a main ingredient.

Located in south of Delhi and near Lotus temple, Nehru place is specimen of Indias IT potential. One of the most popular commercial areas of Delhi, it houses many commercial complexes, cinema halls, and thousands of shops and showrooms of branded and unbranded IT products. Correctly called the hub for IT products, it offers a whole range of computer software and hardware products. The prices of the products vary, depending on their quality as well as knowledge of the buyer. In Nehru Place, you can see the free and democratic competition among hawkers, which sell their products to potential buyers, on the lobbies, streets and corners. Apart from the local shops, you will also find showrooms of branded products, here. In case you have little knowledge about the products and cannot differentiate the real one from the fake one, these showrooms are the place where you should head, to make sure that you dont make a fool of yourself.
